Hi Everybody!
Sorry for the very delayed update! I now have access to the internet as well as two hours' free time, and Scott's urgent request caught my attention there. Well so I'm guessing you were all wondering if I was still alive- you bet I am. I've been at Camp Frenda for a week and a half now working with horses and the like. The camp is nestled among rocky hills and pine trees on the shore of lake Rosseau. The residences here are humble but comfy, the food DELICIOUS and totally vegetarian. The campers will arrive this sunday and we're expecting 85 for the first two weeks. So far camp has been alot of work (getting up for worship at 8:00 every morning, working between meals, staying up till 11 playing guitars with new friends) but alot of fun too. I've met some super nice people here- most of whom are serious about their walk with God and very friendly. There are staff here from all over the world- Australia, Brazil, Saskatchewan, Tennessee, Bermuda, you name it. It's a very multicultural place here. In the horsebarn where I work there are 13 horses. Part of my job is helping to run them down the road from the grazing pasture down to the catching pen, feeding them hay before breakfast, and test-riding the new horses (whom we know nothing about). I've been improving my riding skills this past week, and have managed to sit quietly at a lope (almost a gallup). I now have a certification for assistant horsebarn manager. This morning I finished my CPR and first aid training, which I am also now certified for. So far camp has been busy but a blast- I can't wait for it to really start! Even though I'm making friends here I still miss the old ones! Keep in touch guys and go with God! Love you all,
