Hi Everybody!
Sorry for the very delayed update! I now have access to the internet as well as two hours' free time, and Scott's urgent request caught my attention there. Well so I'm guessing you were all wondering if I was still alive- you bet I am. I've been at Camp Frenda for a week and a half now working with horses and the like. The camp is nestled among rocky hills and pine trees on the shore of lake Rosseau. The residences here are humble but comfy, the food DELICIOUS and totally vegetarian. The campers will arrive this sunday and we're expecting 85 for the first two weeks. So far camp has been alot of work (getting up for worship at 8:00 every morning, working between meals, staying up till 11 playing guitars with new friends) but alot of fun too. I've met some super nice people here- most of whom are serious about their walk with God and very friendly. There are staff here from all over the world- Australia, Brazil, Saskatchewan, Tennessee, Bermuda, you name it. It's a very multicultural place here. In the horsebarn where I work there are 13 horses. Part of my job is helping to run them down the road from the grazing pasture down to the catching pen, feeding them hay before breakfast, and test-riding the new horses (whom we know nothing about). I've been improving my riding skills this past week, and have managed to sit quietly at a lope (almost a gallup). I now have a certification for assistant horsebarn manager. This morning I finished my CPR and first aid training, which I am also now certified for. So far camp has been busy but a blast- I can't wait for it to really start! Even though I'm making friends here I still miss the old ones! Keep in touch guys and go with God! Love you all,

| Hey everyone!
It's been so long! Well my life has been totally turned around. As of the last two weeks, I have been back with my family of 7. Last week we stayed in the home of some gracious friends (my best buddy Katy and family) and now we are all shoved into the small but cozy 3-bedroom cottage on the shores of lake Kagawong on Manitoulin island. I am sharing a room with my sister and brother (yay for bunkbeds) and my two other brothers are up in the so 'little-house on the prairie-ish" loft overlooking the tiny livingroom. At night through the paper-thin walls I can hear the loons crying and the waves lapping up against the rocky shore, and my sister snoring next to me.. sigh. What a relaxing, inspiring place. The scenery is startlingly wild and remote. There are plenty of "ontario mountains" up here (more like big rocks) and lots of trails. The Bridal Veil Falls are gorgeous. It's been fun so far. Of course, there are downsides. Every word spoken (or yelled) within this cottage can be heard next door (great for my passionate, communicative family!hehe) My beautiful husky, Oreo got skunked the other night...I, of course, was nominated to give her the tomato-juice bath. But Oreo is having fun too. Last week she met her current boyfriend, another husky named "Chilly"...his owner brings him by every morning to visit with Oreo. They love to wrestle and chew eachother's ears...a little too mushy for the kids..."EWWW they're kissing!!"
So... this is life on the island. Right now I'm at the teensy weensy Kagawong Library which is a room about the size of my living room at the old house. There are two computers and you have to pay $3 to use the internet for e-mail for 20 minutes. What do they have against e-mail? Oh well at least I'm BLOGGING not e-mailing. But the librarian may not fall for that. Ah well. So those of you who haven't come up to Manitoulin, come up this summer and pay a visit to this poor lonely girl whose friends are all 8 hours down south!! :( Ok got to go! Love you all and keep blogging!

| Hey peeps
What nice weather it's been!!! Today it's 29 out but stormy. I just got back from Tims and Chapters where I went with Peanut and Marleen. We had fun looking at art books and stuff. It really wasn't a long enough stay for me. I could hang in Chapters all day. I drank the second ice cap of my life and now I am buzzed. I am psyched up for the math exam tomorrow morning! This is going to be exciting. Whatever am I going to do after school is over??? I won't have a social life! I won't have any rigid schedule to follow! What will become of me! Woe is me! I am now regretting the fact that I haven't read a single novel since September. My favorite genre of literature has been replaced by textbooks and the like. I am planning on reading a few good novels over the summer (at least one a month) does anyone have a good reccomendation for me? Here are my favorite genres: Historical fiction, fantasy, biography, any old classics (Jane Austen, Dickens, Dumas, Arthurian legends, etc). Before I die, I want to make sure I've read every classic book. Here are a few of my faves: Little Women, Robin Hood, Le Petit Dauphin, The Secret Garden, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, a large collection of Arthurian Legends, Julie of the Wolves, White Fang, Black Beauty, The Inheritance (by Louisa May Alcott), The Anne series, anything else by L.M. Montgomery,
Books I want to read this summer: Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, some Madeleine L'Engle, Treasure Island, The Time Machine, The Man in the Iron Mask, etc. Farewell!

| Hey ya'll. Just taking a break from studying math..(I really do deserve a break! Come on! It's linear programming and logarithmics!) Here's a website with my art: http://www.splashbulb.com/~elise/1?rand=600202 enjoy and don't mind the partial nudity (all for the sake of art and innocence) | | |
| A quiz stolen from Erica Henley's blogsite:
Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4 and write what it says "and if the Armagnacs, as her party was called, had really wanted to rescue her..." St. Joan by Bernard Shaw
Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first? I don't think I want to do that. I am in the computer lab and there is a girl I dont' know sitting directly to my left..lol I would probably end up grabbing her boob
What is the last thing you watched on T.V.? the news.. did you know that 62 Americans have been killed in Iraq so far? But they won't say how many Iraqis died. Pretty pathetic.
Without looking, guess what time it is? 1:10
Now look at the clock what is the actual time? 1:31
With the exception of the computer what can you hear? people typing, talking
When did you last step outside, what were you doing? Walking into the school from my car Before you came to this website, what did you look at? Philmon't blog
What are you wearing? Brown cords, stripey shirt, suede shoes (typical Elise- wear) Did you dream last night? Yes it was a very good dream about this tall dutch guy... *sigh* When did you last laugh? HAHHAHHA!!! A few minutes ago when I was looking at Philmont's cow lung picture!!! It's priceless! What is on the walls of the room you are in? Dry-erase boards, posters that say "Please do not bring food or drink into the computer lab, thank you"
Seen anything weird lately? Philmont, and Jason getting personal with a cow's lung (wouldn't that make a perfect picture book for children?)
What is the last film you saw? This really really good movie on tv which I don't know that name of.. it had Gwyneth paltrow in it and it was very philosophical... about fate... it started with Paltrow missing her subway, and then her imagining what COULD have happened if she had gotten on it. THe rest of the movie is showing her parellel lives... what is happening and what could have happened (except you don't really know what is happening) Thanks to Erica and Scott: i now know it's called Sliding Doors?! anyway... good film to show for a Strauss movie night!
If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first? Realistically I would pay off my tuition. I would buy a huge plot of land up north and build my dream house. I would buy an entire recording studio. I would buy a bunch of horses... oh yeah.. the question is what would I buy first.. lol I wouldn't be able to decide wow!
Tell me something about you that I don't know I was a complete and utter tomboy until I was 14
If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do? Jesus would come and change everything
Do you like to dance? no, I LOVE to dance!!!! Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her? Claire Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him? Rowan or Liam Would you ever consider living abroad? Probably not... i haven't been anywhere really... I liked what I saw of West Virginia but that isn't really THAT abroad. Maybe Ireland. | | |
